This is the first of the “teaching volumes” of the Foundation, edited with the intent of illustrating a series of examples of geomorphological interest which are characteristic of the two valleys which descend from Mt. Schiara toward the city of Belluno. After an introductory chapter on geology, the book illustrates several itineraries through which interesting geomorphological phenomena can be explored.
The objective is to stimulate students to take an interest in understanding the natural history of the Belluno area, including some of its most particular geomorphological aspects, through guided field visits, with particular attention to areas included within the Bellunese Dolomites National Park.
The volume, realized with the collaboration of Dr. Emiliana Casol and Gabriella Dalla Vestra, and under the supervision of Dr. G.B. Pellegrini, is presented as a functional guide.
