Papers presented at the conference held on June 19, 2009, which disseminate the results of the archaeological dig conducted by a team of researchers of the University of Padua under the guidance of Dr. G. Leonardi, on the archaeological site of Castel di Pedena in the municipality of San Gregorio nelle Alpi (BL). This high point, frequented for thousands of years beginning in the Bronze Age, constitutes a significant point of references in the proto-history of the province of Belluno, connoted as a “frontier site”. The volume reports on the first digs, conducted with attention to interdisciplinary methodologies which characterize contemporary archaeological research.
